 Craig H. Ensley, Chief Executive Officer

 Rob Herb

  • Joined Scale Venture Partners in 2005, focusing on our semiconductors, components and systems investments
  • He serves on the Board of Directors of Enpirion, Inc., NComputing, Inc., and Siimpel Corporation, as well as MIPS Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: MIPS)
  • From 1983 to 2004, Rob worked at AMD where, for the last four years, he was EVP and Chief Marketing Officer, leading worldwide sales and marketing
  • He also held additional posts in sales, marketing and general management at AMD.
  • Rob holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois

 Kurt Petersen

  • Prior to joining IMT's board, Dr. Petersen joined the Band of Angels in Silicon Valley in 2011, an angel investment group which mentors and invests in early stage, high-tech, start-up companies.
  • Recognized as one of the pioneers of MEMS, Dr. Petersen has co-founded six successful companies in MEMS technology since 1982, which include Transensory Devices Inc. in 1982, NovaSensor in 1985 (now owned by GE), Cepheid in 1996 (now a public company on NASDAQ: CPHD), SiTime in 2004 (still private), Profusa in 2008 (still private), and Verreon in 2009 (acquired by Qualcomm)
  • Dr. Petersen established a micromachining research group at IBM from 1975 to 1982, during which he wrote the review paper “Silicon as a Mechanical Material,” published in the IEEE Proceedings (May 1982) -- the paper is still the most frequently referenced work in the field of micromachining and micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS)
  • Dr. Petersen has published over 100 papers, and has been granted over 35 patents in the field of MEMS
  • In 2001 he was awarded the IEEE Simon Ramo Medal for his contributions to MEMS, and is at a member of the National Academy of Engineering and is a Fellow of the IEEE in recognition of his contributions to “the commercialization of MEMS technology”
  • Kurt Petersen has a PhD in EE from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BS degree cum laude in EE from UC Berkeley

 Jose Suarez

  • A managing director of Investor Growth Capital, the wholly owned venture capital arm of Investor AB, joining Investor AB's Asian operations in 1997; now based in IGCs Menlo Park, California office, he focuses on the semiconductor, semiconductor infrastructure, and out-sourcing sectors
  • Currently serves as a director on the boards of Atrenta, Inc., Chelsio Communications, eSilicon Corporation, Innovative Micro Technology, Magnum Semiconductor, and Millennium Microtech.
  • BA in Asian Studies from Dartmouth College

 Dr. Heiner Sussner

  • Managing partner of Miramar Venture Partners, a Southern California based venture fund
  • Also serves on the boards of Azuro, Accelops, and Fastsoft, formerly member of the board of directors of Protego Networks (acq. by Cisco), Silicon Systems (acq. by WDC), and Headway Technologies (acq. by TDK)
  • Former senior managing director of Hambrecht & Quist Asia Pacific, 16 years of executive positions at IBM Europe and IBM Research
  • PhD in physics from the University of Konstanz, 1994 IEEE Medal for Engineering Excellence

 Malcolm Currie, Director Emeritus

  • As one of the original directors on IMT's board, Mr. Currie has served IMT since 2000.  After 16 years, Mr. Currie has retired in 2016.  We are forever grateful for his guidance and contribution.  
  • Chairman and CEO of Currie Technologies Inc.
  • Serves on the boards of LSI Logic Corporation, Inamed Corporation, Enova Systems, and Regal One Corporation
  • Also on the board of trustees for the University of Southern California, where he previously served as chairman
  • Formerly, chairman of Constellation Communications, chairman and ceo of Hughes Electronics Corporation, president of Hughes Missile Systems, and president of Delco Electronics Corporation
